Catford Arts Trail:


St John's is taking part in the Catford Arts 


Trail and is open from 11am to 6pm on 


Saturdays, 28 September and 5 October.





We are displaying our large collection of 


hassocks (church kneelers). 



There is information and video of our church 


history and our links with the Forster family.  



Demonstrations of tapestry work.



And activities for children.



Refreshments available.

First Friday Coffee Club


The next meeting is on Friday, 4 October 2019  from 10.30am to 12 noon in church.


Pop in for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee; a game of scrabble; chess or cards.

Senior Social Club   -    July meeting CANCELLED 



Due to the forecast for record-breaking high temperatures (37c) on Thursday, 25 July we 


have taken the decision to CANCEL the club this week.  We believe this to be the correct 


action for all concerned.



Hopefully things will be back to normal in August so we look forward to seeing you on

Community dance workshop mainly directed towards 


adults.  No prior dance or movement experience is 


needed.  Anyone under 18 is welcome to come along, but 


needs to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.



Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can move in.

Parish Nursing:
We are excited about a new ministry shortly launching in the Parish.  Parish Nursing sees a registered Christian nurse ministering in the parish to help support the health and wellbeing of the people in the local community.  If you would like to find out more about this initiative, there will be information sessions at St Luke's at 11am and 7pm on Tuesday, 3 July.  Ali, the parish nurse, will also be speaking at St John's@4 on Sunday, 1 July.

On the Eve of Palm Sunday


Come and begin Holy Week with this meditative service of Evening prayer, consisting of psalms, readings and canticles, set to music and sung by St John's Church choir.  The service is followed by a time of fellowship with refreshments and homemade snacks.

Monthly Lunchtime Recital:  

As per our notice of last week, the March Monthly Lunchtime Recital - originally due on Wednesday, 14 March - had to be cancelled and was replaced by a performance which took place last week (7 March).

We apologise if you were hoping to come along this week.  The regular Second Wednesday Lunchtime Recital will resume as usual in April.

However, we are pleased to be able to invite you to two additional events taking place in St John's church this month:

On Saturday, 24 March at 4.30pm :  Choral Evensong (and prosecco).   On the Eve of Palm Sunday  -  see further information in our separate notice below.
